Newcastle White Ribbon Day Service
A Service of Remembrance, Repentance and Renewal, acknowledging sorrow and rejoicing in hope.
Remembrance: During the service, we will remember the victims of male-on-female violence and domestic abuse, giving space to those who grieve.
Repentance: We will acknowledge the church’s failure to address domestic abuse in and outside our individual congregations and call for the repentance and a moving forward in hope to ending such violence.
Renewal: Offer space for those who have survived domestic abuse/violence against women to start or continue healing from the trauma. For churches to move foward in hope to act towards the end of such violence and to support those affected.
The service will be held at Trinity Church at 2:30pm and conducted by The Rev. Rosemary New.
